Travis Littman is a MD specializing in general surgery in Springfield, OR. Dr. He has been an Advanced Trauma and Life Support (ATLS) Instructor since 2005 and a Program Director since 2007. He enjoys teaching and has received several teaching awards during his training. He has done research in general surgery, endoscopy and oncology. Dr. Littman enjoys a wide range of surgery including general, minimally invasive, vascular and oncologic surgery. He enjoys a variety of hobbies including racquetball, photography and snow skiing.

Dr. Alma Bencivenga is a practicing physician in Airdrie AB. She grew up in Red Deer and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Canadian University College (now Burman University) in Lacombe, AB. She completed her Medical Degree at the University of British Columbia in Victoria, and did her residency in Family Practice at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. She is fluent in 4 languages and is a black belt in karate.

Dr. Marcus W. Heisler is a family medicine doctor in Elma, Washington and is affiliated with Summit Pacific Medical Centre. He received his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine and has been in practice since then. One interesting note is that he married another Legend recipient, Faith Calaminos and they both live and practice medicine in the state of Washington.

Dr. Faith Calaminos Heisler is a family physician and primary care doctor at Providence St. Peter Family Medicine, based in Olympia, WA. She is married to Dr. Marcus Heisler, another Legend Scholarship recipient.

Angie Elloway was awarded the Legend Scholarship in 2017 and graduated from Burman University in 2018. In 2019 she was accepted to the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. She met Micah Elloway at Burman University who also was accepted to LLU that same year and whom she would marry in June of 2019. They both started dental school together in August of that year. The 4 years of dental school were very challenging but also such a rewarding experience for her. She graduated in 2023 and her and Micah have a 9 month old baby boy.
Angie is now splitting her time with her son and working at her father in law's dental practice where she recently performed her first molar root canal!

Taylor graduated with BSc from Burman University and went on to study at Loma Linda University's school of medcine. She graduated from the school of medicine and was also awarded a masters degree in bioethics. She continued her residency at the University of Vermont Medical Centre in Burlington, Vermont. Her intent is to pursue a fellowship in neuro immunology.

Ashley has been accepted into St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada.
The school invited her to go visit the campus and Ashley said she had an amazing time. She plans on attending at the start of August '24 in their MD program. We also want to congratulate her on being awarded the 60,000$ Deans Scholarship from St. George's University! As for this summer, she plans on working in the hospital for part of it and then doing some traveling
before starting her medical school journey.

Boss was accepted to McMaster University Medical School in Ontario and began his studies
in August 2023. He is currently most interested in orthopedic or general surgery, although that may change as he moves further along in his studies. He's set to graduate in 2026, and his plans are to go into a five-year residency for a surgical specialty.

Boss Lee
Maison was awarded the Legend Scholarship in 2016 and went onto study medicine at the University of Alberta and graduated in 2023. He was also the recipient of the Inspire Foundation award to further Indigenous education. Maison was involved as a member of the Indigenous Medical and Dental Student’s Association, and co-leader of the Medical Student’s Mountaineering Club. Staying physically active is a big part of his lifer, so he said he liked to make time for intramural volleyball, curling, weightlifting and the occasional ice climbing trip.
After graduating from Burman, Maison worked in human services for a few years. This career took him to Rocky Mountain House where he served as live-in Team Leader of Clearwater Lodge, a complex needs group-care program for indigenous youth. He found himself managing the facility as Program Coordinator. During time off, he volunteered with Rocky SAR (Mountain Rescue) and did a lot of recreational backpacking and alpine climbing.
